What this site is about:
What it is
This site is my internal assesment for 10Cm. It is the achievment standard 1.2: "Demonstrate understanding of an historical event, or place, of significance to New Zealanders". It is part of the Year 11 history course for 2012 and is an NCEA exam worth 4 credits.
The task
Our current class assignment: "Demonstrate understanding of an historical event, or place, of significance to New Zealanders" (Achievment Standard 1.2), is about bringing together the information gathered in our last assignment (A.S 1.1) and displaying it in a comprehensive manner. We got to chose which battle/campaign we studied, and as you may have seen already, I chose to study the Pearl Harbor Attack. Others in my class chose to do theirs on many other battles/campaigns that varied widely from those such as the Battle of the Somme, the Gallipoli campaign, The battle of Stalingrad, and many others.
My task
In this assignment there four tasks that we must cover. The first is to complete a section on what factors lead to this battle/campaign. The second section is about what happened during this battle/campaign. The third section is on the outcomes of this battle/campaign, including the effect that this event had on New Zealanders. The final task we have is to summarise what the significance of this event is to New Zealanders. All of these tasks must be detailled and in depth, and display a comprehensive understanding of the focussing questions involved.
